- JACKSONVILLE
FIRE MUSEUM -- A description of a marvelous place for firefighting
aficionados & local history buffs. The Jacksonville
Firefighting Museum operates in a historic, two-story fire station that
features displays and antique equipment. The museum also boasts a
steam pumper thought to have been used to battle the Great Fire of
1901. Built in 1902, the station housed African American firemen
for its first three years. The description of the museum is given
