A CAMEL ON THE BEACH? --  Normally this question might be referring to a cigarette, but not in this case.  According to the Florida State Archives, the photo comes from Jacksonville, and the Archives speculates that it's from a movie company.

Perhaps this and the other animal photos were taken during  the 1915 filming of "The Four Feathers."  The classic story that has been reshot by filmmakers over the years, including in 2002.  During Jacksonville's heyday as a movie center, the 1915 silent version was filmed in the beaches area.  Producers brought in large animals for other flicks, so they probably did the same for this period piece.  It includes desert scenes that supposedly take place in the Mideast during the 1870s.

Does anyone else know anything about these images?
