MYSTERY IMAGE: GATOR HUNT

This Jax mystery image dates from 1947.  An armed African American man poses with a dead gator, with four curious boys also in the picture. The usual questions apply: Who?  And where? 

Apparently, the St. Johns River appears in the background.  The photographer was Jack Spottswood, according to the Florida State Archives.
