This scene is somewhere along Davis Street in December 1941. Notice the 2nd floor door that opens out into nothing: The building on the left must've once had a porch or balcony at that level. The structure seems to have been a tavern that served food & alcohol, including Jax Beer, a once beloved beverage brewed in Jacksonville. (A Texas company now owns the trademark "Jax Beer.") Part of the title of the establishment above appears to been "Palace." Does anyone know anything further about where this picture was snapped?
