(Source of picture: Florida State Archives) This shot shows the laying of trolley tracks in Jacksonville. The workers are standing outside of a store that sells stationary, books, toys, & dolls. No date for the photo is available. During the early 1900s, at least four companies provided trolley service and shared Jacksonville's tracks: the Jacksonville Traction Company, the Ortega Traction Company, the Duval Bridge Company, and the South Jacksonville Municipal Railway. |
