OK, this one is
probably a gimme: What Duval County high school is this?
The State Archives of Florida doesn't identify the institution.
The year is 1959, when Eisenhower was president.
By the way, can you
also name the students in the photo? If so, then you're a real
eagle eye!
MYSTERY
SOLVED! The nameless school appears to be Terry Parker High, the
Arlington institution which is the alma mater of John Delaney, the president of
the University of North Florida and the former mayor of Jacksonville. One
website visitor recently emailed, "Could it be Terry Parker High School? I
could not find when it was built, but it looks kinda like the bus drop-off did
when I went there." Also as another website visitor, Ruth Carter-Bourdon,
writes, "I didn't go there, I was in California. But we visited relatives in
1961 and went past it many times. I called my aunt Pat, and she looked at the
website and said that it was indeed her school."
