MADE OF WOOD
(Source of image: Florida Archives) CLICK HERE to peer into the living room CLICK HERE to peek into the bedroom Well, the mystery is this: Who was this older African American lady? And where in Jacksonville were these three pictures taken? We know the photos were snapped on April 7, 1950, and the settings were a dining room, living room, and bedroom But these are the only clues that the Florida Archives gives us... By the way, what happened on this spring day over 1/2 century ago? The first World Health Day was celebrated, Hank Snow made his inaugural appearance on the "Grand Ole Opry," actor Walter Huston ("Treasure of the Sierra Madre") died in Hollywood, and actress Erin Gray ("Silver Spoons," "Buck Rogers") was born in Honolulu. (She was also the cologne model who provocatively declared, "My men wear English Leather--or they wear nothing at all!")
