(Source of picture: Florida State Archives) NIGHT VISTA -- This scene is what our great grandparents could have gazed upon. Dating from around 1910, the photo depicts the Jacksonville skyline along the St. Johns River. The picture looks so clear that it could've been snapped last night, instead of 4 or 5 generations ago. This relatively humble scene, however, has certainly evolved. Think of how futuristic the night skyline now appears, including the sleek Acosta Bridge and the tall, pointy Bank of America tower. |
