In these photos, perhaps Mr. McCaley harbored bittersweet feelings about his retirement, in spite of the smiles.  Then again, maybe he was just looking forward to nothing but days of hunting & fishing!

According to retired railroad engineer George Watson, the people in the bottom photo, from left to right, are as follows: E. R. McMullen ("last superintendent at Wildwood"), Andy King Road ("foreman of engines, Wildwood"), 3rd person unknown, J. L. McCaley (retiring engineer), and H. G. Brooks ("local chairman for engineers, Wildwood").  Mr. Watson happened to spot these photos at JacksonvilleStory.com, and he then double-checked with another railroad engineer, who had served many years ago.  After gathering the info, Mr. Watson graciously contacted Glenn Emery, JacksonvilleStory.com's manager.  Isn't the Worldwide Web wonderful?
