(Source of image: Florida Collection, Main Public Library, Jacksonville) JINKIES! -- What color does your mood ring turn when you're in a library? Marcia Brady would've been proud of these fashionable chicks, who were perusing some neat artwork in the mezzanine of the groovy old Main Library. That day during the '70s, did the two drive downtown in a Gremlin or Pacer, maybe boasting an 8-track that boomed with Leif Garrett and "sky rockets in flight"? (The website manager of JacksonvilleStory.com used to tool around in a white '74 Matador with a burnt-orange top, a real chick magnet dreamed up by fashion designer Oleg Cassini.) Did these young foxes start their morning with a bowl of Boo Berry or Count Chocula, retrieved from an harvest gold refrigerator stocked with Shasta and Fresca? Did their bedrooms feature a waterbed, beanbag, rain lamp, and beaded curtains? Would their boutiques have included hip huggers, bell bottoms, cork-sole shoes, and white lipstick & eyeliner? Did the two girls aspire to be "bionic women" and "Charlie's Angels"? Where are they nowadays? Are they still First Coast residents? And -- more important -- did they save all of their '70s stuff for eBay?
