SCRAMBLED, POACHED, OR SUNNY SIDE UP? -- This poultry curiosity dates from 1947.  The hen's name was Betsy, and she resided under a house in Jacksonville Beach.  As the man in the photo discovered, Betsy had been quite busy: She laid 109 eggs that no one had known about.  (A chicken usually yields about 200 to 300 eggs each year.)  Interestingly, only nine of Betsy's eggs were outdated.  She had probably produced enough for a large portion of the diners who visit a Waffle House for Sunday morning breakfast.
