The
upper stories of each of
these two similar
houses exhibit some of Jacksonville's richest displays of the art of
wood
shingling. Seven different patterns of shingles appear in
consecutive
horizontal swaths around the front of these houses. This textural
quality
is accentuated by the angles created by the two second-story
bays.
A diamond shape emerges in the midst of the rows of shingles to
highlight
the bay beneath the main gable.
