SP-17
149 WEST THIRD
STREET
DATE: ca. 1904
ARCHITECT & BUILDER: Unknown
This finely detailed
house is another good
example of Colonial Revival influence on a Queen Anne style
residence.
The novel spoked-wheel design in the windows of the pedimented gables,
the delicate porch rail spindles, the patterned metal roof, and the
paired
tapered columns of the veranda all contribute to the handsome
facade.
The residence is first listed in the 1905 city directory, occupied by
William
A. McMillan, a coppersmith.
