The
Lauderdale is the earliest of several prominent
apartment buildings designed by Benjamin, built by McAden, and owned by
Julian Prewitte (see RA-104). This massive structure is decorated
with balustrades on the recessed balconies, arches over the third-story
windows, and ornamental brackets supporting the clay-tile pent roof.
