SP-7 AVONDALE APARTMENTS 211 EAST SECOND STREET DATE: 1916 ARCHITECT: Roy Benjamin BUILDER: H. F. McAden The two-story Avondale
was built as an annex
to the larger Lauderdale Apartments (SP-6) next door. Although
built
four years after the original building, the Avondale was constructed of
similar materials and texture as the Lauderdale, making them
distinctive
yet complementary neighbors. The enclosure of the open spaces on
the front of the building grossly detracts from the original
design.
